The innovative outboard engine raises the performance potential and handling level of every sports boat to a completely new level. Top features include an ultra-modern, compact engine layout, an ingenious lightweight bracket, a practical power trim and tilt system and special composite covers. In addition, all engine mass components have been realigned and larger engine mounts have been installed for uniquely smooth running.
Optional integrated hydraulic steering system
Whether you are converting an existing boat or equipping a new boat, the integrated hydraulic steering offers many of the advantages of integrated electro-hydraulic steering, such as a clean, uncluttered appearance and quick installation.
Electronic "drive-by-wire" throttle valve and gearshift
The optionally available digital LAN system enables simple and convenient control as well as synchronization of the engines for double/triple engine configurations. It also offers a one-touch start/stop button. Our multifunctional 5-inch LCD premium color display is another attractive option for the 150hp model.
Helm Master®EX, so simple
Start the engine with the electric keyless ignition and immerse yourself in the optimized handling functions for single and twin-engine boats with the precise joystick control. With the auto-pilot activated, lean back, enjoy the view and keep an eye on things effortlessly. A light on the engine indicates when a gear is engaged.
Thanks to the specially positioned crankshaft, a compact design has been achieved
The 150hp is an ultra-compact engine. The offset crankshaft and the gear-driven balancer shaft are just two of the many technical innovations that our engineers have used to achieve this. Thanks to a special exhaust system, the engine is also extremely quiet.
Variable trolling speed control
Another function of the optional digital LAN system is the practical switch on the rev counter, which allows direct control of the engine speed. This makes it easy and convenient to set the engine speed in the range of 650 to 900 rpm in steps of 50 rpm. The result - effortless and relaxed cruising.
Shift damping system SDS (Shift Dampening System)
Yamaha's patented SDS damping for easy gear changes, first introduced on our larger V8 and V6 models, eliminates typical shifting noises. A toothed pulley and a toothed rubber hub absorb noise and vibrations. This sophisticated solution enables smooth and quieter gear changes.
Networked digital instruments (optional)
All our EFI engines can be connected to Yamaha's network system, giving you access to our wide range of digital instruments. So you can get the most out of your engine. The multifunctional CL5 color display fits seamlessly into your helm, while its compact size leaves more room for other electronic devices.
