Yamaha V MAX SHO 90 hp - High-performance outboard for sports boats
Spontaneous acceleration, powerful acceleration and thrilling top speed: The V MAX SHO 90hp is the smallest model in our world-famous VMAX series and a magnificent masterpiece of our engineering skills. To enable outstanding performance despite its low weight, we have developed a cylinder head with a single camshaft and four large valves - and equipped it with extra-long intake paths. The result: a super compact and powerful outboard motor that turns every trip into a unique water sports experience.
SOHC design with 4 valves per cylinder
To keep weight low and efficiency high, the V MAX SHO 90hp has an unusual design - a single overhead camshaft operates 4 valves per cylinder. This design means less mass in the cylinder head and a lower overall weight of the engine. The 4-valve-per-cylinder design also ensures highly efficient combustion, which in turn increases power, torque and economy.
Tuned intake system with long intake paths
The long intake ducts are another special feature of the V MAX SHO - specially developed to increase maximum power, torque, acceleration and top speed.

Equipped with Yamaha's already famous "V MAX SHO" metallic paintwork in black and red, the new series makes a strong statement about its tradition. High-performance generator with 35 amps
We want to ensure that you never run out of power on the water for starting, charging the battery or operating accessories. That's why we equip the V MAX SHO 90hp with a three-phase alternator. With a capacity of 35 amps, it can charge your batteries even at trolling speed. That's called peace of mind - and it's what you can expect when you own a Yamaha.
Multifunctional tiller as an option
Yamaha's multi-function tiller handle includes engine start/stop, emergency stop, gear shift, trim and tilt operation, variable trolling switch, warning system and button control. All in a practical, solid and user-friendly control system.
Variable trolling speed (optional)
Adjustment of the trolling speed from 550-1000 rpm in steps of 50 rpm. Ideal for fishing or navigating in waterways, marinas or areas with speed limits. The trolling speed can be set to 200 rpm below idle speed.
Specially developed propeller series
This special line of propellers is designed to complement the wide range of Yamaha outboards and help you customize engine/boat performance to your personal preference. Many propellers in the range are equipped with Yamaha's exclusive Shift Dampener System (SDS®), which significantly reduces operating noise and allows for smoother and quieter shifting.
Compatibility with a wide range of displays
Our engines are equipped with the latest technology, so the V MAX SHO 90hp is compatible with a variety of exclusive Yamaha digital control systems and displays, from 6Y8 to the latest CL5/CL7 gauges and displays. When it comes to getting accurate engine data and performance information while operating the boat, Yamaha systems are second to none.
Optional Y-COP® safety
V MAX SHO models are compatible with our exclusive Y-COP® (Yamaha Customer Outboard Protection) security system. This is a simple, user-friendly and highly effective option - the compact remote locks and unlocks the engine at the touch of a button, preventing your boat from being taken for a spin - and gives you peace of mind if you leave it unattended.
